I’m too excited to not write a quick post about this.
I just played a 12 chord progression on my classical guitar for the first time in 2 years, 2 months and 1 day.
That’s 1,401 days since I last played a recognizable chord.
My first college major was music performance in classical guitar. I hadn’t realized how incomplete these last few years have been until I successfully strummed a chord.
I’m far from playing again, but it’s a start. I think I’ll finally feel “right” when I can run, sing, play my instruments, and draw again. A tall order, but I’ll get there.
And I wouldn’t trade the experiences I’ve had for those lost skills. Earning them again is what I’ll do.
It also just hit me that it’s been slightly more than 2 years now.
I think I’ve been telling people it’s been just over 3. Oops.
Back to playing.
